GAMMA-Z High Performance EDM Wire is a patented, proprietary wire made under private label for SST Consumables by Thermocompact in Vietnam.

GAMMA-Z High Performance EDM Wire consists of a high zinc brass core which is coated with a proprietary layer of γ-phase brass. The patented proprietary γ-phase coating is a discontinuous layer of Cu35Zn65 brass which promotes efficient cutting due to its high zinc content, strong bond to the core material, and flushing assist provided by the “porous” nature of the discontinuous coating. Cutting speed increases of up to 30% over plain brass wire and 20% over regular Zinc Coated Brass wire have been reported.

GAMMA-Z High Performance EDM Wire provides increased performance levels in most machines and applications at only a moderate increase in cost. GAMMA-Z HIGH PERFORMANCE COATED EDM WIRE actually costs less than many other standard first-generation coated wires.
